Netgear r7000p wifi slow nothing fixes it!
I have a netgear r7000p router 200mbps isp service from spectrum. Since day one at two different houses wifi internet tests I get 21mbps download and 4 mbps upload. So frustrating. App shows speed com...
1. what modem/gateway is the router connected to?
2. what firmware is on the router?
3. how are you testing the speeds? wired? wireless? IF wireless, are you connecting to 2.4ghz or 5ghz?
4. what wired speeds do you get from the modem?
5. what wired speeds do you get connected to the router?
Cable modem is a Ubee. Connecting with 5g both hard wired and wireless. I have to look at firmware but I have had this issue since day one with this router. I thought it was isp but it's not
- The speeds are the same roughly 20nton23 mbps download and like 4mbps upload. Also when son is gaming for no reason he starts to lag and it's not the game server bc other friends don't have the issue. This thing is junk
what ubee modem is it?

Thats a modem/router combo device. Its a double nat.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.
