It's the firmware. Netgears last 2 releases .58 and.60 have connection issues and latency problems. This has been talked about on verious forums. The solution right now is to roll back to version .52 or use Voxel's firmware .62. untill NG releaes a fix.

with .52 all problems seem to be resolved, haven't seen a ping over 40ms in 20 mins now...
Thanks for the help, I had factory reset the router and updated the firmware to newest version awhile ago so this makes sense... spent 6-10 hours trying diferent things and learning about troubleshooting networks so thanks for that netgear...

Looks like V1.0.2.62 is out. I just tried it (was on .52 previously for the reasons above). This new version seems just as bad if not worse. I even did a factory reset. Has anyone else tried V1.0.2.62?
