Netgear R8000p in bridge mode
I replaced my old Nighthawk X8 that no longer works with a Netgear X6S Ac4000 R8000p. In the old setup I used the X8 in bridge mode with my fFIOS Actiontec router. Though I have read the instr...

The fact that you need to explain what "bridge mode" means (to you)
suggests that "bridge mode" is not a well-defined term, and that there's
probably a better one.

Which "the instructions", where? From the user manual on Netgear.

How, exactly, did you do that? Went to advanced tab: Advanced Setup, Router/AP/Bridge Mode
From your question it appears you are not familiar with the X6S settings. I attached a piture
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Use the
Router as a WiFi Access Point". For more helpful pictures, fetch the
R7000 User Manual, and look there.
Access point mode does not work for my needs. I cannot use the ethernet ports in AP Mode.

I can read the User Manual, but I can't see what you did.

No, a wireless access point is exactly what you want for this:

In bridge mode, I would not expect wireless access to be available,
because the R8000P wireless stuff would be used to communicate with the
main router. In access-point mode, the Ethernet ports _should_ work.

That screen shot was directly of the X6S settings page.

As I said before " With the the X8 in Bridge mode I was able to connect additional devices using both
Ethernet ports and WIFI"- antinodeJan 09, 2020Guru

That's a problem. But I doubt that "bridge mode" is a solution.
"not work" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations. With Netgear firmware, almost any problem is possible. You might try
using one of the LAN ports instead of the WAN/Internet port for the
connection to your main router.> As I said before [...]

It worked fine with my Nighthawk X8

"X8" is not a model number. And, again, "Bridge mode" is a less than
clear description of what you did.Sorry the box says Nighthawk X8 but I thought there was only one X8 model so I dropped the Nighthawk.
