Netgear wifirouter R7900P is not blocking
Very concerned. I've added googleusercontenet.net in the block site, fire wireshark and it still goes there. Doesn't show as blocked. What gives?

Not sure what you mean. I am not asking to block content, i am looking to block destinations. In the security options, clearly states "blocking sites containing key words or domain". that is url=domain. I don't care about encrypted communication and fully aware it is ssl encrypted. But i do care if googleusercontent is stealing information and for that reason alone, i should be able to block destinations.

I believe what is meant is that the blocking feature of the router don't block any connections to remote sites that use HTTPS as there entry into there pages. The router can only block HTTP sites.
I belive of you want more blocking of HTTPS sites, you'll need to look into DNS services like OpenDNS that I believe can support blocking of connections to sites that use HTTPS.

I bought this netgear because a similar document found. Still not sure what you mean. According to this document, youtube is an https site and it is clearly listed there with no mentioning it cannot block anything other then http sites.

What the document doen't say or mention is the HTTP methods that sites use. Yes most sites now days use HTTPS now days. However most home class routers have never had the ability to block HTTPS sites. I don't know the full reasoning behind it. Seen with other non NG router products as well. As suggested find you a DNS service or employ a firewall, Pi-Hole or DNS solution or software solution to help you with those HTTPS sites you want to block.
I've asked NG to update that article with more details regarding HTTP and HTTPS and what routers can and can't block in regards to these two protocols.
Also be aware of your model router:
Good Luck.
