Netgear X6S EX8000 extender speed test is slow
I have a Netgear X6S EX8000 extender connected to a Netgear RAX120 router. When I test my internet speed on the extender I get less than 200Mbps. When i test the internet speed on the RAX120 router...

Whatt firmware is on the extender?
If you hardwire into the extender and test speeds, what do you get?
How far from the router is the extender and what materials are in the way? An extender still needs a decent signal to run off.
How are you testing speeds?
What channels are you using for the RAX? Have you tried changing channels?
Also, when you setup the EX8000, did you set it to "extender 2.4ghz" during setup? I usually disable this .You can still connect/use 2.4ghz but it doesn't allow the extender to fallback to the 2.4ghz if theres an issue with the 5ghz? (2.4ghz is slow)

The Firmware on the Extender is V1.0.1.232.
I have not tried hardwiring from the Router to the extender.
The extender is sitting right next to the router.
I am using the Internet speed check on the NIGHTHAWK app to check my speeds.
On the RAX, for 2.4GHz the Channel is set to Auto. For 5Ghz the Channel is set to 153.
When I set up the Extwnder is did enable the 2.4GHz. I have disabled the 2.4GHz and I got the same results.

I have not tried hardwiring from the Router to the extender. ----I meant to hardwire a pc/laptop to the extender and try it. That puts all the burden on the backhaul.

I am using the Internet speed check on the NIGHTHAWK app to check my speeds.----the built in speedtest isn't always accurate because it sometimes chooses poor servers. Try using the speedtest app/browser based method. And try different servers.
On the RAX, for 2.4GHz the Channel is set to Auto. For 5Ghz the Channel is set to 153.---That's good, the EX8000, uses higher channels for the wider backhaul. The lower 5ghz should be for front haul. Have you tried changing the backhaul channel though? Maybe there's some interference.

I hardwire a pc/laptop to the extender and ran a speed test. I was getting a speed of 400 to 500 Mbps.
On the Extender, I changed the 5GHz WiFi Channel to 64(DFS) and now my Extender speed is almost the same as the Router speed.
Thanks for the Help.
