i need my wifi 2.4 ghz and the 5.4 separated for some of my wifi to work. Can you do that?

Depends on what router you have.
Netgear78 is your ssid name, not your model.
Look on the label. What model do you have?
And you might think you need them separate but for the vast majority of things, you don't. So what actual issue are you running into when setting up with them combined?

I have yet to encounter a scenario where this is necessary, although too many people mistakenly believe they need it.

yea they are separated, just name one of the wifi something different than the other band. For example the 2.4ghz name it Netgear78a and the 5ghz Netgear78b
