Netgear99 Router won't work with Arris SB8200
Hi:
I had my NETGEAR99 working with an Arris Surfboard 6183. I decided to replace the SB6183 with an Arris SB8200. But I couldn't get an internet connection. Xfinity told me the 2 were incompatible. I reconnected the SB6183 and now I have an internet connection.
Is there a way to get the Netgear99 to connect with the Arris 8200. If not, I'll need to return it. Or maybe someone can tell me what router I should get to work with the Arris. I wasn't having trouble with the Arris. I just thought I should upgrade.
Thanks for your time!

What model NG router do you have? Netgear99 isn't a model. Most likely the SSID name.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.- Dobe12Aspirant
FURRYe38: Thanks for your response. The Netgear is a Nighthawk AC1900 Model R7000. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try your suggestions. I had xfinity reactivate my old modem because despite them trying to assist me for 45 minutes they couldn't get the new modem to work with the R7000. To try your suggestions, I need to call them back to reactivate the new Arris.
So, you think the 2 are compatible and the Xfinity assistant just didn't know how to help? She was guessing when she said the old Router wasn't compatible with the new modem. But the internet did work when I had the old modem reactivated. I just don't want to spend a lot of time on the phone with Xfinity. But if the 2 devices are compatible it may be worth another try rather than returning the new Modem. Thanks

Use the 1Gb port on the Arris modem for the connection to the R7000 WAN port. Since the R7000 only support 1Gb on it's WAN port, it won't use the higher 2.5Gb port at all on the Arris modem.
Test a different router to be sure.
