Firmware Update Instructions:

To update your router’s firmware, follow the instructions in your router’s user manual. To view your router’s user manual, visit https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R7800.aspx#docs

Manually update FW on the router if this isn't seen on the routers web page:

NOTE: Use a wired PC and web browser to update router FW. If continued problems are seen after a FW update, it's recommended to try a factory reset and setup from scratch with out loading any saved configurations from backup files.

NOTE: Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200

Cooling: Its recommended to install a USB laptop cooler under the router for 24/4 cooling. Helps keep the router cool and helps avoid heat damage to the electronics.

      Where did that come from?

The R7800 would not pick that by default.

      Mine prefers

      http://192.168.1.1

No problem here if I use

      http://192.168.1.1

      That's the"homepage of the router".

      It refuses http://192.168.0.1/

Something else going on on your network?

Any one seen any DNS issues on this version of FW for the R7800 with out IPv6 being enabled?

        Just curious. 🤔

  • I'm successfully accessing the system: logging in, logging out, and encountering the login pop-up as expected.

  • I can no longer see device bandwitch usage on any devices nor can I make certain devices low-highest. Thry are all set to low even after changing them. Bot good. I need more control or at least to set devices as I have roommate/s and I need to be able to prioritize my cams. I thought the ticking the QOS made that available (unsure about this very new router user) but it is ticked. Seemed like happened with this update. Seems I have to roll back to another version then it evetually becomes unavailable again do not sure if I upgraded versions by accident. It's to bad I have to give up security to have access to device bandwith usage and to set device priority. Anyone know which version to roll back on and where to get it?? I forgot and it is alot of workefaulting and reconnecting many many multiple devices. Uuug. I am so tired of having to do this. I do not have it set to auto update. Anyone else experiencing this problem? I know I can upload another older version to get that feature back but i do not want to go to far back. Any help would be appreciated. Again newbie here.
    Thank you.
