new R6700v3 replacing R6126

In the app, can I replace the defaulty SSID and password with the SSID and password from old router and avoid having to reset the many, many devices in our home?

Yes you can. 

I change routers a lot so I just use the same ssid/password so all my devices re-sync  automatically. Works great.

    Nighthawk app says I need to update firmware on the R6120 that I want to replace with the R6700v3.  Any point in doing that or a way to work around?

      No. just disconnect the current router and install the r6700v3.
