I had similar problems with this latest firmware update, including being unable to use my Nighthawk App. The solution that worked for me was 1) to do a factory reset on the router, 2) change the DNS Addresses as follows: Primary 8.8.8.8 (Google), and Secondary 4.2.2.2, and finally 3) uninstall and re-install my Nighthawk App on my iPhone. Note that my router had been set to get my DNS Address automatically from my ISP. Together, these simple steps solved all of my router problems relating to this latest firmware update. Hope this helps you, too.
- captinboondogglJan 08, 2021GuideGlad you got it working. I’m trying to avoid reconfiguring the router from scratch.
The 68 version was just released and still has same issue.
I also reported the app issue to netgearteam at netgear.com as requested in their app info for any problems. No response yet.
If I get desperate I’ll try your solution. - captinboondogglJan 08, 2021GuideI tried using the google dns servers in place of my isp provided servers and now the app works. Without sniffing the traffic not sure why but a simple DNS change to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 allowed the app to work.
There must be some internal resolution/names that do not resolve with my ISP/DNS (Cox).- captinboondogglJan 08, 2021GuideApp version 2.7.6.3
