NIght hawk/Windows IP address conflicts
I have a Windows 10 PC with a Night hawk wifi router. The pc is connected to the router via cable, all connections to other devices in my home are wifi. Windows 10 consistently pops up error messag...
The error message does not mention any ip addresses. Its seems to be a stock Windows error message, no details.
I obtain a list of connected IP addresses through the night hawk router web interface. There are no duplicate IP addresses at all.
How do I make the config change you mention? I searched in google but instructions were incomplete and mostly inaccurate.

If your Windows system noticed that the IP address which it expected
to use was already in use, then it might complain, rather then set its
own address to some known-conficting address.> How do I make the config change you mention? [...]
It's a Windows question -- not my specialty. I'd look at the
Properties of the Ethernet adapter. There should be innumerable
explanations on this new Inter-Web thing. It seems to get mentioned in
this Netgear KB article:https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/
Look before you change anything.
For that particular disaster-recovery situation, setting static
parameters ("Use the following IP address", [...]) is required. What
you want is the clean-up afterward: "Note: Please remember to change
your PC back [...]". Assuming that that was your original problem
(which is not yet clear, but is still my guess).
