How do i pick a WAP that would be suited to my router i have just brought? What would be best? Please help.

The model in your footer is not a router, but a modem router. No matter, the question still works here.
It probably doesn't make much difference, but it does mean that you have to be careful in what you buy.
As plemans says, your question is a bit vague.
Do you really want an access point? That usually means something wired to your router.
If the idea is to make the wifi travel further, then maybe what you want is a wifi extender. These can usually operate in either AP mode or as a wifi repeater.
