Nighthaw7800 Firmware Update Links NO LONGER Work on Netgear Site
Hi~ I have some neighbors that are using my router for their internet access. I'm attempting to lock down my router and network but found I need to update the firmware for my router. I attempted to ...

Yeah, I already changed the password. Unfortunately, I believe they accessed my router (via admin account) prior to changing the user password. Yes, I know I was lazy and should have locked down my network prior to the invasion. :')
My admin account password had been changed so I had to reset and set up my router network from scratch (at least that is what I suspect happened).
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion - I was very stupid and lazy with my network access and paid the price.

I really need to lock down my router and wifi. Any help would be very much appreciated. By the way, I'm trying to update the software via my windows computer since the Android app lacks any working links within the security options. When I look to see what devices are connected to my network I see strange users, i.e., "Blondi", Asus User", etc. but no way to remove them from my network. The 'trash' option is greyed out...
The .img file is the updated firmware file. There is no software. Recommend manual update with a web browser on a computer connected to the router via an Ethernet cable. See here for instructions: https://kb.netgear.com/23960/How-do-I-manually-update-the-firmware-on-my-NETGEAR-router
Hint - Hint - To prevent unauthorized access, change the password on the Wi-Fi!

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
