Router is connected to Laptop using a cable. Why is the download speed very low?
Not much to go on.
How slow is it? How fast do you think it's supposed to be?
XFinity is my service provider.
I am signed up for 200 Mbps.
my laptop is connected to the router with an internet cable.the xFinity speed test says my download speed is 6.5 Mbps
As a test, I connected my laptop directly to the modem and the speed test showed a data rate of about 120 Mbps. XFinity is providing the bandwidth I pay for.
a curious thing is that my download speed and my upload speed are very nearly the same. (6.5 Mbps)
