Nighthawk 7400 Readyshare Not Displaying Files

Technically 2 issues.  I have a WD Cloud drive that I have hooked up to this router,  I have tried so many things to keep this drive showing active on my Windows 11 computer.  After about 24 hours the only way for it show up my shares is by rebooting the drive and let it index.

My newest concern that I am hoping you can help with is I took a Seagate external portable drive (5 TB), and I plugged it into the USB port in the front.  I logged into the admin panel for Nighthawk and in readyshare it saw the drive.  I went to the HTTP link and the problem is it does not show any files on the drive.  If I unplug it and connect it directly to the desktop, it shows all my files and I can get to it.  I do not have a password setup for http, so I am at a loss.

My firmware on the router is updated.  Any idea?  I am hoping this works and then I would go buy an ethernet to a usb cable and plug my wd drive in via usb.

Thank you for your help.

What is "this router"? 7400 isn't a model number. R7400?

Are you saying that you can get it to work as expected and then it vanishes?

What makes you suspect the router rather than Windows or the USB drive?

You don't say what the "so many things" are that you tried. Did that include SMB?

Windows 11 likes to protect us from the outside world. Have you set it up to get around some of the newer security limits?

    Did you check this?

They don't list the R7400, but most routers seem to be similar.

Lots of WD stuff in there, but not much WD "Cloud" hardware,

I happily run a 4TB WD Elements in Windows 11. Also an 8TB Seagate. They turn themselves off from time to time, but happily wake up when I try to connect.

It is a R7400 nighthawk.  The driver is updated on this router.

Let me try to explain.  I plug in a portable 5 TB drive to usb port on my nighthawk.  I go into admin for the router and it shows that this drive is now connected.   Then I copy the http link.  It takes me to the web page, but it displays no folders, no files and it looks like it is empty.  This is not true because if I plug in the drive directly to a desktop and all my files are there.  Is this a windows 11 problem?

I am hoping that I can get this to work on this external portable drive and then I would buy an ethernet to usb and plug my nas drive in as a usb drive.  I am frustrated that my network shares when plugged in as an ethernet only last 24 hours as the link until I reboot the drive.  For now, any ideas why the portable drive is not displaying the folders/files, even though if I plug it directly into the windows 11 computer I can use and play my files.

      Thank you for your help.

I never use that as a way of accessing USB.

I feed \\READYSHARE into my file explorer. (It also works in the Windows explorer.)
