Nighthawk 8000p and iPhone 12 losing internet

I have an iPhone 12, recently upgraded to iOS 15 and am having an issue where the internet connection on my phone will not work when I am away from my phone or away from the house. I haven’t figured out if it is when I leave my wifi and come back. For example: I will run to the store, return home, phone connects to wifi and I can’t do anything internet related until I cycle wifi on my phone. What seems to work fastest is switching from one 5g band to another. Anyone have this issue? Cannot decide if it is an issue with the router or the phone. My wife stated it happens to her sometimes too, but I don’t see her having this many issues. Thanks in advance.
