This issue is resolved. The Genie app wasn't helpful but logging directly into the router allowed me to see that somehow the Internet settings where wrong. Once I set them appropriately everything started to work again. No idea how they got changed in the first place...I was out of town when it happened.

Is auto update of firmware on? That is the default and maybe there was a new firmware downloaded and installed while you were gone? If on I would suggest turning off.
