Nighthawk AC1750
Since the day I purchased my router (a year before), I have been getting speed around 150 mbps even though I had a plan of 400 mbps from my ISP. All these days I thought the issue was with my ISP. ...

You have the R6700? - Yes
What modem/gateway is it connected to - Netgear CM100 Multi-Gig Speed cable modem
How are you testing speeds? Wired? wireless - Wired (~750 mbps) Wireless (~250 mbps)
What device are you testing on? - Tested wireless using speed test app on my iphone as well as desktop.
If you have qos, traffic monitoring, parental controls, or access control enabled, disable them and reboot the router. - all are disabled.
Please let me know if you need any other information.
Thank you for your help.

I'm in the same boat and have been reading a lot of threads with a similar problem but not finding any good resolutions so will be following in case you hit upon what is needed!
Quick question: How were you able to downgrade your firmware to V1.0.3.66_10.0.50? I did a factory reset last night but it just reset back to V1.0.4.122_10.0.95.
Just changed our ISP from Xfinity to RCN and am supposed to be getting 1gig speeds. When I plug ethernet cable directly into computer we get around ~800mbps but speed tests over Wifi are only getting around ~200mbps.
So, probably a similar setup.
- Santoshroy87Jan 08, 2022GuideRight, so I am also trying to get this issue resolved. I hope to get atleast close to what I am paying for.
To downgrade, I used routerlogin.net
You need to login to your router
Find the firmware version V1.0.3.66_10.0.50 online, extract the .chk file from the zip file of the firmware
In the router login page, go to wireless - advanced tab - administration - router update.. choose the above .chk file and upload - then apply.
Then it would take sometime to downgrade and then you need to again create a password I think.. set up security answers.
At one point you would be asked if you would like to upgrade the firmware to the latest version, just select no.
I guess these instructions will help.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck! - michaelkenwardJan 09, 2022Guru - Experienced User

Follow this:
How do I manually upgrade firmware to my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Or read the manual for you device.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Check the section in the manual on updating the firmware.
I did a factory reset last night but it just reset back to V1.0.4.122_10.0.95.That just clears the settings. It does not touch the firmware.

Remember, when you change Internet suppliers, you need to reset the devices on your network so that they forget settings inherited from the previous ISP.
Also remember that wifi speeds will nbever be as fast as wired speeds. It is physics.
And 200 Mbps is as fast as many wifi clients can manage. Do these things do better with wifi different sources?
It might be worth a bit of background reading.

Possibly. But never a wise assumption.
You have joined in on an existing conversation that may or may not have anything to do with your problems.
There is also a good chance that the official support team is busily monitoring new conversations and may miss your addition to this one.- erlerjrJan 09, 2022Aspirant
Thanks, guys! Will give these things a try after while.
