revert to.4.30 or 4.28
Factory reset to defaults.....DO NOT use saved configuration
Delete or forget 2.4 previous connections in all devices

Basically the same issue for me. After updating to the current firmware (V1.0.6.28_1.1.83 ), the 2.4Ghz band shows strong signal strength, but after a day or two the clients connected to that band are unable to access the internet. The 5Ghz band works fine. Is Netgear planning on releasing a new firmware update soon. It's a little tedious rebooting the router every couple of days.

Don't reboot the router every couple of days, juse downgrade to the 1.0.4 firmware as someone else suggested. Then keep watching these forums for a new version and that it has been around for a while and doesn't have any problems before upgrading.
