Nighthawk AC1900 (R7000) Slow WiFi Download Speeds
Hello Everyone,
First post here however I am at my wits ends with this router. So I bought this router based on all the great feedback and based on recommendations from cable guy. For weeks it appears my network is slower than advertised (300 mbps). I ran a speed test seveal times on wifi with results from about 8- 35mbps max. Connected I can sometime get 250mbps however I paid for a good router and expect it to work. Based on the posts here is what I tried:
Ping test to determine optimal DNS package size
Adjusted MTU to - 1340
Entered custom server locations for DNS
Changed wires
Factory reset (multiple x's)
Downgraded firmware (R7000-V1.0.7.12_1.2) - Can someone explain why new firmware would be made to slow down router?
Every type of power reset I could find
Adjusted channels
Also just about anything other I could find on this board.
Trying to log into router to troubleshoot both wired and wireless is also excuriating slow making simple updates take over 1 hour
Tips? Also including configs below:

There are some serious issues with recent firmware, have a look in topic 'Feedback for R7000 New firmware 1.0.9.18' A workaround could be flashing alternative firmware, I strongly recoment XWRT-Vortex for R7000.

Thank you so much for your response! Performing this update worked like a dream! I am getting much faster speeds (about double) but nowhere near 300m. However much better!
