Perhaps your "my Sprint Rave booster" is always slow.

I'll assume that your "my Sprint Rave booster" is one of the many
"Sprint Airave" devices (about which I know nothing):

Does the Sprint AIRAVE support 3G data?

Yes. The AIRAVE provides enhanced coverage for any 3G Sprint phone
or mobile broadband card at EVDO Rev. A data speeds of up to
3 Mbps downstream and 1.5 Mbps upstream. [...]

If the top speed of the gizmo is 3Mb/s, then there would be little
point in giving it a 1000Mb/s Ethernet interface.  So, it's probably
always slow (by gigabit Ethernet standards).

The same could be said for many of us.

If you're worried about your cable, then connect its ends to any two
of the LAN Ethernet ports on your router, and look at the port-status
LED indicators.  If they're white, then the cable is better than you
    need.
