Nighthawk c7000 v2 IP release - renew

I am trying to obtain a new public ip address. I log into my router, go to gateway status, and enter connection status. Then I release, wait a few, then renew and I am still getting the exact same ip...

Why?

 

As plemans says, explain what you are trying to achieve and you might get better advice.

 

If I wanted to get a new public ip address for some reason, I'd reboot the modem that feeds my network.
