Nighthawk R6220 not blocking sites

You probably need a more sophisticated approach to this problem. Blocking sites really isn't that sophisticated. That's why Netgear has a raft of different ways of dealing with the issue. They go under the general banner of "parental controls".

The original version of your R6220, now six years old, came with free parental controls. That gave some control. But Netgear has abandoned that approach in favour of paid for services, like Circle.

The other boilerplate reply has nothing to do with your question. The answer is the same for "general" or Nighthawk routers. They all work in the same way. It doesn't help that not all Nighthawk routers have the same features. 

Start with the problem. Then track down something that meets your needs.

Sadly, this may mean a new router, Nighthawk or otherwise. Indeed, you may get better guidance here because someone may be able to tell you which device they use to keep the kids under control. In my case, I know that the R7000P has Circle. (The R7800 doesn't.)
