Tell us more.
What does "never reconnect" mean?
Does the power come back on? (What does the power LED look like?)
Does it fail to connect to the modem? (What does the Internet LED look like?)
Is it the router that doesn't connect or the other things on the network?
What happens on the modem? Does that come on OK?
What is that modem?
What firmware version do you have on your R6700 v2.

When we lost power last night… after it came back on… our router was not connected automatically… it takes numerous times to reconnect … is there a particular setting used that will re-connect the router in it’s own ???

There's a row of LEDs on the front of the thing that should provide some clues.
Power cuts usually take out both the modem and the router on a network. When the power comes back on, they may start up in the wrong order, with the router starting before the modem is ready. That means that they get confused about which is in charge.
It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
- LADMDec 04, 2023AspirantThank you so much for the informative information. I’ve taken screenshots of my router details from the NIGHTHAWK app if I could send them to you so you could look them over. Also, I took a video of my LED lights on the front of my router, showing you what is blinking. I have also checked, there are no updates available at this current time. Please advise ..

Please advise .."Blinking" LEDs are usually a sign that there is traffic on that bit of the router. The manual explains that.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual Troubleshoot With the LEDs.Please read my previous messages again.
I have suggested various things that you could try.
I have also checked, there are no updates available at this current time. How did you check?
Sadly "no updates available" is not a reliable or helpful indicator when troubleshooting. It depends on how you check the firmware version. The app is not good for that.
People turn up here all the time mistakenly making the "latest firmware" claim.
The on-board check for new firmware is unreliable. It can miss updates, especially when you are a long way behind the latest. It can also be a while before updates hit the automated update servers.
Look at the Router Information page in the screenshot you provided.
