Nighthawk R6700v3- Not getting 1g speeds

I just upgraded my internet to 1g speed.  I have my router hardwired to the modem but get speeds in mid 100sMbps when I run the speed test via the app.  Should I be getting closer to 800Mbps?  Is there a way to boost that as well as the signal in my home?

    don't test using the app or over wireless. 

    Reason why is the built in speedtest rarely chooses the best server. 

    Also wifi won't max out gigabit.

    Another thing to try is factory reset the r6700. during the install process make sure to leave qos, access control, traffic monitoring, and parental controls all disabled.
