Nighthawk R6700v3 and ATT 1000 Fiber

Thank you for your reply. Could you please explain the need for doing this, as it is a lot of work and is one of the main reasons I don't want to use ATT gateway. I have had the Nighthawk connected to 3 different modems over the years (2 Cisco and 1 Netgear without any issues without doing what you have suggested.

When you connect a router to a different modem or ONT, it is possible for the connection details to be retained in the router. With different data sources you have different Ethernet modules and thus different details. These details are only reset with a firmware default reset of the router.
It is also important to follow a proper startup sequence for the hardware. Shut off (disconnect the power cord) for both the ONT and the router and disconnect the Ethernet cable. Power up the ONT and give it ample time to connect and stabilize. Then connect the Ethernet cable, power up and give the router ample time to boot and stabilize. Recommend you do not have any other items or USB connections attached to the router for the first initialization with a new data source.
Two questions:
- If I do the factory reset will it revert to the original firmware?
- Will I be able to restore my cfg file? I have quite a number of reserved ips and a different LAN IP subnet.
One of my main concerns is that given that the Netgear R6700v3 only has a Dual-core 1 GHz processor while the newer products such as a RXA70 has a 64-bit 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, this older unit cannot handle the bandwidth provided by the ATT BGW320-505. Is that also a possibility?

Is that also a possibility? The R6700v3 should handle your bandwidth requirements nicely. You have not shared much information about what those requirements are. The only way to know for sure is to put it in service and test it out.
