To get you started in the right direction, what is the brand name and model number of the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) supplied by Century Link?
Is it possible the ONT is a combination device that includes a router with several Ethernet output ports?
Are you certain your Ethernet cables are the right type and are good? Cat 5e or Cat 6 is recommended.
Have you performed a firmware default reset on your router? Sometimes the port connection parameters from a previous installation are retained in the router and need to be reset.

Well, the ONT has no identifying markings. It does however have 4 ethernet ports and 2 phone ports. The lights that are lit are: power, Broadband, and the connected ethernet. The ethernet cable are cat 5e, I did do a reset of my router.

It appears your ONT is a combination device that includes a router. There has to be some markings somewhere. Is there any type of user interface you can access on the ONT?
When you have one router feed another router you have a double NAT configuration. Not good and most likely the reason for the lack of internet connection. There is a good description in the FAQ support section above. Search works fine.
The simplest configuration change for a test is to log in to your router and configure it as a wired access point. Your router Wi-Fi will work fine, you have control over your SSID's and passwords, and you can connect other Ethernet devices to the LAN ports on your router. However, some of the features of your router QOS, traffic meter, smart connect, and etc. do not function when in an access point configuration. There is a list of these features in the FAQ support section.
Your Century Link ONT most likely includes Wi-FI. You do not want your router to set in close proximity to your ONT (less than 6 feet). This will cause Wi-Fi interference between the two.
