The idea that the router "drops internet to phones" is odd. Have you considered that the phones might be the issue?
The router isn't likely to boycott your phones. It is clearly putting put wifi. It is then down to the clients to play ball.
Have you tried the basic trick of telling the phones to forget the wifi connection and then reestablishing the link?
