Nighthawk R7000 always redirects to 192.168.1.1/genie_index.htm
Hello, My router wasn't used for a long time and I took it out to use at my parents house and I reset it and reloaded the oldest firmware (V1.0.0.96_1.0.15), so then I can upgrade to the latest firm...
Yes, That was the issue. I figured it out. When it asks if I want the Genie to set it up I was saying yes, but this time I chose "No" to set it up myself and it let me into the admin section. I was able to download the latest firmware and install it and it just restarted and it looks good.

I have tried resetting the router from the back for the 30-30-30 and I tried chrome, firefox and edge and they all redirect me to the genie which checks for internet connection. It's so weird because I was able to downgrade the firmware from the screens I'm looking for, but they won't come up again.
I do not have a solution for you as this is the first time I've heard of such a behavior. Just want to note that a 30-30-30 reset does not work on ARM-based routers. Only MIPS ones.

It's so weird, I just want to reset it completely to how it was the day I bought it and then upgrade to the latest working firmware.
10 second press of the reset button and release for NG routers is good enough.
So is the wizard not getting past the checking internet connection?
