So, as I say, you're not on the latest firmware according to your own post citing you are at v.106.
If you do upgrade, as has already been advised, do it over a hard wired connection. I have my own particular routine for upgrading firmware which involves disabling wi-fi before I start the process. I'm sure this isn't necessary, but it makes me feel better.
I also unplug anything else plugged into the router, leaving only the ethernet connection from my modem and my laptop connected to the router via ethernet cable.
I've disabled UPnP and I've disabled all logging due to multiple false DNS attack reports.
I don't have auto update on.
If you want to downgrade to a much older firmware, remember, it's at your own risk.

Rolled back the firmware to 42.10.2.44, and turned off auto updates, So far 5G is solid

winklemeis You will need to do a manual firmware upgrade to an older firmware.
