What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed or something like this happens, you can just reload and go.

I am on the newest firmware per the app - 1.0.11.106.
There is no button for the Guest network in the app, but it is in the online directions posted by Netgear. I am at a loss as to why I don't have the option. I do have the newest app version.
The rest of the components in the system should not matter. All the same equipment was functioning with a guest network for years and now it will not. I need to get into the settings to fix it. PLEASE HELP!

To find more and detailed information, please log in to the routers web page at 192.168.1.1 using a PC and web browser.
You'll find guest network options there.

That is precisely my point...it will not log in via routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 on my computer. I was hard wired and had wifi turned off and it still will not connect. Is the router ready for recycling?

RxRot I'm afraid you're not on the newest firmware, you're 4 firmware updates behind. The latest firmware for this model, is:
R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.128 | Answer | NETGEAR Support
In essence, don't believe what either your router browser GUI or Nighthawk App tell you because even I'm one firmare behind and both my router GUI and App tell me I'm up to date.
This router is getting very long in the tooth now and if you've had it for years, it might be worth upgrading.
