When connected via hotspot to my phone (4G) or my old router i can use the TV normally and can access all internet content and download apps, etc. I checked the TV for any upgrades to the version and this is current and no upgrade available. When connected via my Netgear R7000 it successfully connects to the router but the TV says there is no internet connection and to contact my isp to troubleshoot the internet service. I have up to 25 devices connected in the network, some wired and some wireless, all have internet theough the R7000.

Unfortunately the vote is 25 to 1 that the router is working appropriately.
As a suggestion, change the name you use for the SSID to something short and simple and then try to connect the TV. Maybe the TV is retaining some settings from a prior connection. It is easy to change the SSID back if it does not work. You have not said what band you are connecting to, 2.4 Mhz or 5 Mhz? Try the other band. You might also try connecting the TV to the guest Wi-Fi.

That was my thought. I would investigate how to get the TV to forget everything. I am not sure if this is what was meant by "I reset the TV a multiple of times".

If you've tried that and got nowhere, changing the SSID would be a good one to try.
I still believe that if there is an Ethernet port on the device Powerline Ethernet is a better option for things that don't move around, like TVs. No need for the fastest plugs around. TV streaming doesn't need gigabit, or even megabit, speeds.

Thanks for the suggestion and I did reset back to factory a number of times.
I have resolved this by using my old router as the main internet router with WIFI turned off and using the Nighthawk as purely for WIFI in AP mode. This allowed the LAN connection of the TV (and other devices) to use the old router to connect to the intenet (been working fine for over a week) and all of my WIFI devices still connect to the Nighthawk for their internet and network access also.
Quite a compromise but I was getting nowhere. Just some kind of conflict between the Samsung and Netgear NightHawk firmwares.
- FolkorJul 01, 2021AspirantThanks for the insight. I'm having similar issues in my home network, just with Samsung Phones. I wrote it off as some odd issue with the S9/S9+ but the wife and I replaced our phones with the S21/S21+ and are experiencing the same issues. It came down to an issue with either the wifi or the router. I tried using the Guest Network and renaming the SSID, didn't help. I tossed on an older Linksys router as a hardwired AP and no change. Bypassed the R7800 and just used the linksys for a couple days, no issues. Seems to be a base firmware issue. I've got a Cisco 4221 I'll be installing to replace the router and turn my R7800 into an AP. If that works then I'll probably sell the R7800 and get some WAX630s or something.
