I currently am situated quite some distance from my router (on the other side of the yard) so it's imperative I get proper internet speeds.
Wifi speeds depend on many things, including the materials used in your property. It sounds like you have a layout that is beyond the capabilities of a basic R7000 router.
It is not wise to rely on wifi to connect to a router that is a long way from the wifi clients. Remember, 5 GHz wifi may be faster than 2.4 GHz but it has a shorter range.
You might like to rethink the layout of your network.
Relying on a single R7000 router, always a mid-range device, may not be the best choice. That is why many users have taken to Mesh networks with routers and satellites that can cover the area.
