Nighthawk r7000 not showing as a lan device on gateway

I have a ATT DSL Gateway Model No 7550. I have contacted them already. No use. When I first bought my R7000, it worked flawlessly out of the box. Connectivity was great, no issues. Well after a while...

Well after a while, the internet connection would randomly drop and you could not access the internet for a bit. Well now the gateway does not want to recognize that the r7000 is connected via ethernet. I have tried most things under the sun and would appreciate any help. I can give more technical information as needed. 

I also faced the issue but I restarted then it got fixed.
