Nighthawk R7000 wifi lights won’t connect
Purchased Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router less than a year ago. Have had zero problems, until today.
Wi-fi dropped in the middle of a show on Netflix and will not reconnect.
Tried:
- unplugged modem and router for five minutes, reconnected
- changed Ethernet cable between modem and router
- turned the wi-fi light on and off to look for connectivity.
- reset button on router
- unplugged modem and router again to reset
When powering on, the router power button on the left side and button beside it turn amber and then white after twenty seconds. No other light comes on. There is no indication from the wi-fi lights at all, at any point.
I appreciate any help.

Don't just plug and unplug things, go about it systematically.
It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
