Nighthawk R7800 1.0.2.80 firmware issue
I just updated my router to firmware version 1.0.2.80 through the Nighthawk app today and now my router restarts on its own every few hours. I did not have this issue with 1.0.2.78. I shouldn't have ...

Thanks for replying. I just unplugged it and I'm no longer using it. I'm using my Verizon G3100 now for my wifi. It works better and has no issues. Too bad that Netgear can't do updates without messing stuff up.

I have the router in AP Mode as well I experience the same problem. I've tried many things and do a lot of search. My 2 cents:
Updating to 1.0.2.74, 76, 78 and 80 introduces a bug leading to random reboots. This happens several times per day. Today, the only way back I have to get back an stable devices is by reflashing a previous 1.0.2.74 firmware (1.0.2.68 for example).
Also, I tried the well-known Voxel's custom firmwares, but they have the same behaviour on those versions based on Netgear's 1.0.2.74 onwards.
From Voxel's, I just tested 1.0.2.80SF and 1.0.2.81.1SF versions. The Voxe'ls 1.0.2.79SF works fine (dated from 23/07/2020 which is based on Netgear's 1.0.2.68).
P.S.: Netgear, please test before publishing updates supposed to improve a product. Some of us use this router with a professional purpose.
This is not an isolated case. Just do a search on the Internet.
