Nighthawk R7800 capabilities
Recently upgraded internet from up to 200mbps to 1000mbps, but there is no difference in speed on a Dell Optiplex 5070. Just want to know if the Nighthawk X4S AC2600 (Firmwear version: V1.0.2.92)...

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

Nighthawk X4S AC2600 firmware version is 1.0.2.92. Cox modem - Arris CM8200A. No markings on cable from internet modem to router; however, it is small diameter than the CAT6 cable going from router to PC.
All of the things mentioned in your list have been done but not in the order specified; however, I gather that your estimation is that the router is capable of 1G provided the setup is done correctly. So that answers my question. Please let me know if you see any issues with the above-mentioned equipment. (No news is good news.) Many thanks for the reply.

If there are not markings on the cable, would be anyone's guess about that cable kind. I recommend you find and replace the cable to be sure with a CAT6 cable.
Yes the R7800 is capable of handling around 900Mpbs which is what you should see with a ethernet connected PC.

Will replace cable from cable modem to router with high quality CAT6 and go from there with properly ordered instructions provided. Many thanks for your time and expertise.
