Hi. The model is a R7800
The firmware was updated and current as of last night
Problem - When I try to use Chromecast for Google TV the Chromecast makes the router power down and re-start. This only happens with the Chromecast as I have a firestick and have zero issues. This must be a communication problem between the Chromecast and Netgear R7800?
Do I need to turn something off on the Netgear?

You know how many times on there people say "the firmware is current" when its not? Quite a bit as the automatic update checker isn't always the best.
So what actual firmware is on it?
What modem/gateway is it connected to?
You say you just updated the firmware?
Did it start after that?
If so, have you tried a factory reset?
And if that doesn't work, downgrading the firmware?

I updated firmware yesterday to V1.0.2.92
I had the problem before and after updating firmware.
I would not know what firmware to go back to fix the problem so please advise if I need too.

Oh and yes have factory re-set Chromecast several times now to no avail.

Got a different chromecast you can try? Makes me suspicious that the chromecast is defective and causing the issue
