Nighthawk R8000 AC3200 smart connect issues
Just setup my new AC3200 today and enabled smart connect after testing speeds around my house switching between 5ghz 1 & 2 bands. I have a Macbook Air 2015 that only got 100mbps on 2 but almost 300mbps on 1. Where my iPhone 8 was opposite getting 300mbps on 2 and in the 100mbps range on 1.
Using my iPhone on smart connect when I go to furthest upstairs bedroom I get around 90-100mbps but manually choosing band 2 I get 250 to 270mbps which makes me think smart connect is not switching to best available wifi signal when moving around house. Shouldn't it do this or does smart connect just not work that we'll?
I've been using an apple airport extreme the past 5 years so this is my first nighthawk and other than smart connect in very impressed with speed and range of this router!
