Sadly this did not solve my problem. Intermittently, I continued to get the same issue where many devices in the house did not have internet access. Oddly, smart phones and tablets seemed to be the issue most frequently. Rokus and Kasa devices and echo dots still worked for the most part.
I was ready to throw in the towel and replace my Frontier provided router with a pure cable modem so that I didn't have the risk of competing wifi signals or whatever the problem was. In doing research on replacing the Frontier equipment I learned that my Netgear Nighthawk is supposed to be Frontier FIOS compatable. So yesterday I unplugged my Frontier modem/router and moved my Nighthawk into the media closet. 24 hours later everything is still working fine.
By moving the Nighthawk from the middle of the house on the second floor to the front of the house on the second floor we had buffering issues on the first floor in the back of the house. This is whey I put my Nighthawk in the middle of the second floor in the first place. I fixed this with my Netgear N300 range extender. If this solution proves reliable I will probably upgrade my range extender. If this solution proves reliable I will send the modem/router back to frontier and save $10 a month.
