nighthawk r8000 wifi for phone slow or disconnects
I've already downgraded my firmware to V1.0.4.28_10.1.54 and still having issues with my phones wifi and only my phone. My laptop works fine, it shows my download over 100 Mbps yet my phone the same distance away around 6 feet will only get 6Mbps at the high end. Plenty of time I will have to turn off my wifi on my phone then back on and force a reconnect to get my speeds up higher. I dont have the smart wifi turned on. I do have the 2.4 as well as both the 5Ghz networks enabled. Sometimes I will have to go from one of the 5Ghz to the other to get a better connection. Annoying having to do that daily.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?I had mine loaded with v.62 and felt this version was the best.
Smart Connect enabled. Beamforming and MIMO was enabled I believe along with setting manual channels 1, 40 and 149 worked for me.
20/40Mhz disabled on 2.4Ghz.
Armor, Circle and Traffic Meter disabled as well though I had them enabled at some point on v.76 which turned out to be not good FW as I saw the DNS issues. So I rolled back to v.62.
I had a really old router setup to this originally as well as one that came with my ISP Starry and never had this problem. This is def something with the router itself. 2.4 is auto, 5-1 is 44, 5-2 is 153
