Nighthawk r9000 - bridge/Access point

got coax ran through the home?
A set of moca adapters (ethernet over coax) would allow you to connect the fios router and the r9000. Then you'd just run t he r9000 in AP mode.

For the sake of this discussion though, let’s assume I don’t. Any solutions that don’t involve wiring from the basement to the third floor?Powerline might be a decent option. But it can suffer from interference/distance issues so its connection speed decreases.
The r9000 doesn't have repeater/extender mode so you couldn't use that.
You could always get a decent wireless extender that has an ethernet port to connect it to but at that point, you might as well just use the extender and not the R9000.
You're a bit limited because the r9000 needs to be hardwired into something.
- Well **bleep**. I’m using the R9000 as an AP to try and get better signal on the third floor but it’s taking my gigabit speed down to 30 mbps. Hence the need for a solution.
