Nighthawk R9000 SFP+ Port Not working

Hello I am trying to use my SFP+ port for lan/internet connection so I purchased a Ubiquity UF-RJ45-10G I plugged it in and nothing happens. I try to connect a lan connection on it and it doesnt detect a connection then I tried to test it with a WAN connection and it also says no ethernet connection when it is plugged in. The module gets noticably hot like it's connected, but the router is not seeing my connection. Anyone have an idea what the issue may be? I have never used a SFP+ port before so I could be missing something simple.
