Nighthawk Wireless Router with Xfinity Arris kicks off internet every 8-14 hours

I do have the Arris / Xfinity provided wifi signals turned off. And the Nighthawk in Access point mode. I will look to those other settings.
As another option, I bought a Netgear Modem w Voice (NETGEAR Nighthawk Xfinity Modem with Voice (CM2050V) Cable Modem) to replace the Arris.. will this have the same issue? or because they are all Netgear will they work better together. The cable modem is in a part of the house that is remote (utility closet) and not conducive to signal coverage. That is what I don't use the router and instead use the Nighthawk router in a more centrally located spot with some extenders as access points.

If you use the CM series modem then you can use the R8000 in router mode. Should see no kick off from the modem with the R8000 router. I just put mine online today. Mines connected to a CAX80 in modem mode. I found that v.62 works best. Also no DNS issues here.
