I have a c1100 cable modem. Also a r7500v2 nighthawk x4 router. 200/10mbps service from spectrum. Wifi 5g i pull over 200mbps. Perfect. However I only get 10-20mbps with ethernet. Tried on amazon fire...

Maybe i stated something wrong. Speed from modem is fine. My speed from modem to laptop is 110 when direct connected. The laptop is a 100/10 port. So this is full speed my laptop can receive. The modem is providing proper speed to router, as I’m getting 200mbps wifi. Ethernet connection from router to any other device is the problem. Only 10-20mbps. Nothing else is connected to the modem besides the router.

Is it still within warranty?
- Jayo52Dec 18, 2020AspirantUnfortunately no. I guess at this point i will just stick with wifi since it’s working great. Unfortunate that after spending almost $200 on their product that netgear only offers 90 days to offer support. I’m having trouble thinking of any company I’ve bought products from that wouldn’t at least offer minimum help after that short time frame. I know it’s a business, but 90 days? Really? Pretty pathetic in my opinion. Guess I will consider this more when I buy my next one.
And Plemens thank you for offering suggestions, Much appreciated 👍🏼- plemansDec 18, 2020Guru - Experienced User
support is only 90 days but warrant should be 1 year (2 in some regions) if purchased new.
If its still in that warranty period when you call in, many times they'll agree to waive the fee if it truly is a hardware failure. Its worth asking when you call in.
If its not a hardware failure and they do get it working, then its cheaper than replacing.
If they can't fix it, then getting it replaced is worth it because it might be the first step in complete failure.
- Jayo52Dec 18, 2020AspirantUnfortunately it is out of warranty. Purchased in 2017. But again, it’s still useable even if not totally the way i would hope to use it. I will now be on the lookout for any other issues for sure.
