Nighthawk X4S R7800 Ethernet speed max 100 Mbps

I'm using a Nighthawk X4S R7800 router with a Cat 5 Ethernet cable to connect my Dell Inspiron 5570 laptop, which has an i7 8th gen CPU and is about three years old. I'm new to troubleshooting routers, but I've noticed that the speed can only reach around 80 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload, even though the router's Ethernet ports are supposed to support speeds up to 100 Mbps (as indicated by the blinking or solid amber light). I need to increase the speed for a live stream with a camera. I updated the firmware and enabled automatic updates, but the speed hasn't improved. Interestingly, when I connected the cable to an older laptop (about 7 years old) on the same Ethernet port, the speed was much faster. Can you help me figure out how to increase the speed on my Dell Inspiron laptop?

Improvement may be difficult trying to get from 80 to 100 Mbps throughput.  The first place to start is to replace your Cat 5 Ethernet cable.  If you are purchasing new, get a Cat 6.  If you have another source, Cat 5e should be the minimum.

What application are you using on your Dell laptop to measure throughput?  Recommend the native operating system application Ookla from the play store.

The computer specifications indicate the Wi-Fi is capable of an AC connection and that should provide better throughput than the 100 Mbps Ethernet.

Thank you so much. I just used Google's internet speed test to measure the speed. Are you referring Ookla as this website? https://www.speedtest.net/

No, do not use a web address with a browser as it just inserts another variable.  I presume you are using a Windows computer?  Go to the Microsoft Store and download the stand alone Ookla application.  See attached.
