Nighthawk X6 R8000 - Missing remote management option
Why does my router no longer have the remote management option? I could have swear that I did have it when I first set it up. How can I get this back? Do I need to roll back the firmware? Is Netgear ...

NG has removed web browser based Remote Management from newer versions of FW. Seems to have started around 2020
Is only available now.

Anywhere access works just fine through the Netgear Nighthawk app.
Perhaps scennimo could explain what they want to achieve. The app, or the old style way in? Any what do they want to do when they get in there?

Not sure what you mean. I just want to be able to remote access my router. Right now I cannot. The option to turn on remote access is not available on the page. In the app I found Anywhere Access. It is enabled and has been but it does not seem to work. I still cannot access my router from the outside world. I also want to access a webpage, a server and cannot either. I was able to do all this with my prior router.

Tell us what you mean by "remote access", what you want to do with it, and how you want to do it.

You are not sitting at a remote PC and trying to get into your router in that way.
Did you read the earlier question?
Have you enabled "Always Use HTTPS to Access Router"?
Anywhere Access, as it is now called, works for most of us.
I also want to access a webpage, a server and cannot either. I was able to do all this with my prior router. What does that mean?
What webpage is this? What server is this?
What do you want to do with whatever you mean by that?
Did you read the comment from FURRYe38? I'm not sure that I follow it because it takes you to a KnowledgeBase article that says nothing has changed. But that does explain that Anywhere Access (the feature that uses the app) is not the same thing as Remote Access.
For help on that, this might help:
How do I use remote access on my Nighthawk router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
That is dated just a few months ago. But, as FURRYe38 hints, who know what Netgear has done to the firmware for your router?
So, it all boils down to what you want to do. Your original message was not clear.

I have a couple of Windows servers that I access from time to time. I don't have them on all the time. I also have my own search engine (searXNG) on one of my Raspberry pi's. I also have security camera's. With my prior nighthawk (r7000) router i did not have this issue. Now that I have the (r8000) I cannot access my internal devices.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended. When your away from home, is the R8000 appearing in the Nighthawk app as being Disconnected?
Like my R7960P see here?
