You can try recoving it with tftp or nmrpflash.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9DLrLQrpaw
and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Many thanks for your response.
I tried tftp flash of latest firmware but as router appears to be in a perpetual state of reboot loop, I can’t maintain a connection long enough for the firmware to upload.
I can see the Ethernet connection come up for a fraction of a second before the unit reboots again. There seems to be no way of stopping this.
I haven’t tried the nmrpflash as that also seems to rely on a stable connection between PC and Router.
I fear I have a brick on my hands...?
Any other suggestions gratefully received.

You could try checking the power supply. Maybe its in the process of going bad.
If you have a spare supply that has the same voltage and at least the same amperage, you could try it. (check polarity as well).
And you could try nmrpflash. Maybe it'll get connection long enough to send the file.

Excellent thought re power supply. I will give that a go.
Just tried the nmrpflash and couldn't get it to go... maybe my timing... but the box only seems to have an IP address for a few millieconds and I can't get through that gap (if you see what I mean).
Thanks Mr
