Try turning off QOS. You really don't need it with the speeds you can get.

Im talking about Wifi 5GHz. How do I change channels? What kind of adapter are you speaking of?
The only thing I have is a modem and a router. If there is something I am missing, please let me know!
Thanks.

Jan 20, 20165g AC requires a 5g AC capable client to see those higher speeds. It takes both a AC router and a AC client.

Ok. Whats a good one I can purchase?

That depends on what you're attaching it to. In my opinion the usb ones for laptops are a waste of money. If you have a desktop it will depend on what open slots you have.
Some laptops can be upgraded to a AC client, I did several sony's to Intel AC 7260 for $25 each, laptop MUST have 2 antennas to be able to update.

What Searay says about the Intel AC 7260 is correct BUT many laptops will not let you upgrade the internel adapter due to their firmware being coded to a specific adapter.
Your laptop may also be to old to accept an internal Intel AC 7260 or external USB3 adapter.

That depends on what OS you are running, The Edimax EW-7822UAC is rated a good one for Windows 7/8 and OSX. Look on Amazon or newegg sites for highly rated adapters for your OS.
I don't use an aftermarket adapter so I can't provide first hand experience.

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro. Looking to upgrade when the new Airs come out this year.
