nighthawk x6 r8000 starts dropping clients after a month
My nighthawk router rund fin for about a month (aprox) then starts dropping/disconnecting clients wireless and wired until no connections exist. It may be disconnecting the IP, not sure becouse once ...
I used the reset button and rebooted, but did not have to reconfig the router. If I reset to factory wont I loose all the configurations, device naming, fix IP's and priority that I set up? If I have to do this each time it updates the firmware then I might as well trash it now and get another router because that is an unacceptable effort every time new firmware loads.
I've never 'needed' to factory reset after an update. But if you're having issues, its one of the first things we try because old settings can sometimes cause issues. And if you're router was on a really old version (pre-Armor), that potentially could cause it.
OK, I factory reset the router and reprogrammed it from scratch. Since I could not download or print settings directly I took many screen shots. Missed a few items but put what I think i had back in. Now I will have to wait and see if it drops out again in a month. However, I now have another issue that seems to be with the router since it is the only thing that changed. Each machine issued a notice to reinstall a security certificate, and I frequently get failed connections to servers that clear on a retry. Emails may load without images on the first try and some web pages may randomly get a failure to find server and then work fine on the next try. If I had to guess it sounds like something getting blocked or corrupted in the router durring processing of traffic. I am close to giving up and buying another brand router.
try downgrading to the 1.0.4.68 firmare version. Maybe theres a bug on the version you're on.
